AW11 MR2 before, during and after rewire + upgrades!

This MR2 came to us as an absolute mess. The previous mechanic had attempted to swap a “refreshed” 4AGE in and splice several OEM wiring harnesses together. The car was in pieces, the engine was seized and it had many incorrect parts fitted. The customer really loved his car and wanted to see it running reliably again with a stock 4AGE.

We ripped everything out, fixed the main issues and put together a simple but reliable setup with room for expandability and future upgrades. We installed a Haltech Elite 750 with a custom wiring harness. Upgraded to a coil on plug ignition system using an SQ Engineering adapter plate and Yaris coils, and of course upgraded the ancient fuel system with Bosch injectors, turbo smart FPR and Speedflow braided lines & fittings.

With some help from @mtperformanceengines, the car now starts and runs without issue. The customer has since then made several further improvements and is planning to hit the dyno once he’s finished with some bodywork.

The A45 S has to be one of the coolest cars to come out of Mercedes in the last decade. It sounds and behaves so timidly from the factory when you're cruising around in Comfort mode. But switch the car to Race mode, and suddenly it becomes an absolute animal.

These cars still have so much performance left in them too. Just look at these torque numbers for a Stage 1 flash tune 🤯 Add an intake and high-flow downpipe on top of that, and you have a very fun package indeed.
