Vehicle Condition and Maintenance
Before we carry out any tuning work, your vehicle must be roadworthy and serviced and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. The modules being programmed must be free of current faults, and the vehicle must not exhibit poor running symptoms or have unresolved intermittent faults.
The condition of your vehicle can affect both the tuning process and the reliability of the results. We recommend ensuring your vehicle is in sound mechanical condition before booking a remap.
If we determine that your vehicle is unsuitable for tuning, we will explain our findings and may decline to proceed due to the associated risks. Any travel costs incurred to attend your location and labour costs for work already carried out, including the pre-tuning vehicle health check, remain payable even if tuning does not proceed.

If you choose to proceed with tuning after we have advised you of concerns about your vehicle's condition, you acknowledge the associated risks. Mantra Motorsport accepts no responsibility for running issues or component failures arising from pre-existing vehicle conditions and unrelated to the tuning software itself. Any additional time required to investigate or diagnose these issues, or subsequently detune the vehicle or program it back to stock, will be charged at our applicable labour rate.

Mechanical Risks Associated with Tuning
Engine remaps are developed and tested to the highest standards with performance and reliability in mind. Each tune file is vigorously tried and tested, and carefully customised to be well within safe tolerances for that specific make and model.
However, tuning can increase the stress and demands placed on engine, electrical and drivetrain components, particularly those that are worn, deteriorating or already operating close to their limits. A fault that becomes apparent after tuning is not necessarily caused by the tuning software, and further diagnosis is required to verify its cause.
If diagnosis establishes that a fault or running issue originates from the vehicle rather than the tuning software or work performed by Mantra Motorsport, the additional diagnostic time will be charged at our applicable labour rate. Any outstanding diagnostic charges must be paid before the vehicle is released.
Components that may be affected include, but are not limited to, the complete engine, internal engine components, clutch, gearbox, differential, turbocharger, fuel injectors, coil packs, engine sensors, electrical wiring, battery, diesel particulate filter (DPF), exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve, exhaust system, charge piping, intake manifold and cooling system components.
We carry out a basic vehicle health check before each tuning job to help identify existing issues. However, this check cannot guarantee that all underlying or developing faults will be detected. Tuning carries inherent risks, including the possibility that an existing fault may become apparent during or after the process, even where a health check has been completed, which the vehicle owner accepts.

Existing Faults and Vehicle History
Before tuning, we check for current and stored fault codes in the electronic control unit (ECU) being programmed. If we identify faults that may affect vehicle operation or the tuning outcome, we will explain our findings and discuss the next steps with you before proceeding.
Pre-existing or developing vehicle faults may become apparent during or after tuning, even if they were not detectable during the initial health check. The timing of a fault alone does not establish that it was caused by the tuning software or work performed by Mantra Motorsport. Where further diagnosis indicates that an issue is unrelated to our work, responsibility for the underlying vehicle fault remains with the vehicle owner, and any additional diagnostic labour will be charged at our applicable rate.

Please let us know before your appointment if your vehicle has previously been remapped or modified by another provider, or if it has any ongoing or intermittent faults or running issues. This information may affect how we approach the tuning process. If we identify relevant concerns, we will discuss the available options with you before proceeding.

ECU Access and Tuning Methods
We aim to use the least invasive practical and reliable method to access and tune your vehicle's control unit. Depending on the vehicle and its existing configuration, we may need to remove the module being programmed from the vehicle and open its casing to carry out the work.

Warranty and Liability
Performance tuning modifies your vehicle's original operating parameters and may place additional demands on its components. Existing wear, mechanical faults or component limitations can affect the outcome and subsequent reliability of the vehicle.
Mantra Motorsport does not provide a warranty against mechanical failures affecting your vehicle before, during or after tuning, except for the specific module damage covered by the guarantee outlined below.
If the module being programmed sustains physical or electrical damage directly caused by the tuning or programming work performed by Mantra Motorsport, we will replace the module and program it to your vehicle, provided this can be conclusively established.

This guarantee applies only to failures that occur during the programming process and result in an immediate, clear and permanent loss of communication with the module. This is the specific failure scenario covered by our guarantee. It does not cover intermittent faults, issues that develop after programming has been completed, or other electrical or mechanical faults affecting the vehicle. These issues require separate diagnosis to establish their cause.

Nothing in these terms excludes any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.

Our Approach
We take a considered, personalised approach to every tuning job, with attention to detail, workmanship, vehicle condition and your intended outcome. We work to achieve the best possible result for your vehicle and will communicate any relevant concerns we identify, discussing available options with you before proceeding with work that may be affected by those findings.
